The Board of Directors of the European Central Bank (ECB) sees the interest rate meeting in September as a good opportunity to reassess the key interest rate, according to a protocol from the July meeting.
However, according to the protocol, it is not certain that there will be a reduction.
"We should approach the meeting with an open mind," the ECB writes in a summary of what was discussed by the Board members at the July meeting.
Among investors on the market, most are counting on the ECB to continue lowering the interest rate in September after the reduction to 3.75 percent in June.
