Tesla continues to find comfort in Norway when sales in Europe have steadily pointed downwards as a reaction to CEO Elon Musk's various moves in American politics and the unstable relationship with USA's president Donald Trump.

Tesla's new car sales in Norway increased by 54 percent in June, according to Norwegian Opplysningsrådet for veitrafikken (OVF), reports CNBC. Primarily, it is the SUV model Y that drives the development.

Christina Bu, secretary-general for Norwegian EV Association (NEVA), who represents electric car owners in the country, says that Tesla has been well-established in Norway for several years - but the popularity of the upgraded Model Y is "definitely a part of the reason" for the recent sales increase.

Generally, I think it just has to do with that they deliver a car that has quite a lot of value for the money and is what Norwegians need, says Bu to CNBC.
