Electric car manufacturer Tesla opens its first showroom in India next week and starts delivering cars next month.
This is stated by people with insight into the matter to the news agency Bloomberg, which has also taken part of documents on the matter.
The opening of a showroom in Mumbai marks Tesla's formal entry into the Indian market.
According to Bloomberg's sources, a second showroom will be opened in New Delhi at the end of July.
The entry into the Indian market comes at the right time for Tesla, which has seen sales in Europe steadily pointing downwards as a reaction to CEO Elon Musk's various moves in American politics and the unstable relationship with the President of the USA Donald Trump.
