Prior to the 2026 election, The Moderate Party launched a digital service where personal greetings from the party leader Ulf Kristersson could be sent. The idea was that the greetings would reach people who the creator believes should become members of the party.

But the service lacked restrictions and filters which generated greetings to Adolf Hitler, Uganda's former dictator Idi Amin and the terrorist Anders Behring Breivik.

Now the service has been shut down.

We were made aware that it was possible to abuse our new campaign by writing inappropriate names. Therefore, we shut down the site as soon as we became aware of this, writes Maria Sognefors, operational campaign manager to the TV channel.
