Armand Duplantis goes into the summer's Olympics as a giant favourite, and anything less than a gold would be a surprise.
And now the super Swede becomes an even bigger favourite. One of his biggest competitors, KC Lightfoot, missed the final of the American Olympic trials and will therefore not be going to Paris this summer.
Lightfoot didn't get the jump at all and stopped at a low 5.50 during the American trials. For the final, it would have "only" required 5.65, but the 24-year-old missed by a whole 15 centimetres. Lightfoot has previously jumped 6.07.
The 24-year-old also missed last year's World Championship after missing the qualifying limit then as well.
