It's been a week since Armand Duplantis cleared 6.25 in the Olympic Games final in Paris. A modern Swedish sports classic that was then celebrated extensively in the Paris night.

Later, "Mondo" headed to Greece for a shorter vacation before he is now back in Sweden. During a ceremony at the Mall of Scandinavia shopping center in Solna, he was hailed for his Olympic achievement.

There are a lot of people here, I just feel grateful for all those who support and cheer me on. It's starting to sink in a bit more, actually, he says.

How has it been to take in all the accolades?

It's still hard to understand, but I'm extremely grateful. Another gold medal I can bring back to Sweden, I'm extremely proud of that. I can just enjoy everything, he says.

And now? Now it's back to training.

Mom Helena Duplantis said on stage that it's time to stop celebrating for her son and time to train again. "Mondo" himself says he feels rested after having relaxed in Greece.

I had a vacation with "Dessie" (Desiré Inglander, his girlfriend). It was very nice to be away. I needed that. I feel energetic now and ready to jump a bit more and have some fun, he says.

On August 21, a Diamond League competition awaits in Lausanne. A competition that will take place on a square in the Swiss city, the day before the rest of the gala's events take place at the arena.
