On Monday, an accident occurred at Rättvikstravet.
At the start of one of the races, one of the drivers was injured so severely that an ambulance helicopter had to be called. The accident occurred after the horse began to gallop and then kicked the driver in the head.
After 20 minutes, the rescue service was called, and several ambulances.
According to Rättvikstravet's CEO, Sven Eriksson, the driver was conscious when he left the track.
I haven't spoken to him, but they talked to him when he left in the ambulance, so it felt good, says Eriksson to TT.
The driver is being cared for at the hospital, and just over half an hour later, the competitions continued. Eriksson believes it was the right decision to start again so quickly.
Unfortunately, such accidents happen every now and then. I believe, since he was conscious, I don't think anyone reacted that strongly to it, he says.
