Time and time again, the boy was denied help to board the bus with his wheelchair. On several occasions, he was forced to crawl on board in order to be able to travel.
Now, Region Skåne has received sharp criticism from the Discrimination Ombudsman (DO), with demands to pay 120,000 kronor in discrimination compensation to the boy.
According to the DO, the boy has, over a period of two years, on at least 14 occasions, either been denied help by the bus driver or the driver has not known how to use the bus's lift.
"The fact that the boy has also had to crawl on board the bus, in front of other passengers, must of course be seen as very humiliating and offensive", says DO Lars Arrhenius in a press release.
