With reference to the terrorist threat against Denmark, the Danish government has decided to extend border control against Germany for another six months.
Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard (S) also points out that Germany has introduced border control at all national borders to protect itself against, among other things, terrorism, and that Sweden has also extended border control.
"It testifies that we in Europe are in a serious situation, where we also need to think about who we open our countries' borders to", he says in a press release.
He adds that the border controls should be designed so that they constitute as little an obstacle as possible for ordinary citizens living near the border.
On Saturday, the Danish police decided on increased surveillance of the border against both Sweden and Germany due to the explosion near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen and the shooting at the Israeli embassy in Stockholm.
