The anti-corruption organization Antac is positive to the new proposal.
"This is the result of exceptional, incredible Ukrainians who have shown that they do not allow their European future to be destroyed", the statement reads.
The bill is presented after nationwide protests broke out against a previous law amendment that meant restrictions for the country's anti-corruption agencies.
"I have just approved the bill, which guarantees a real strengthening of the judicial system in Ukraine, the independence of anti-corruption agencies and reliable protection of the judicial system from Russian influence or interference", Zelenskyj writes on Telegram.
The EU welcomes Zelenskyj's turnaround. In a statement, the EU's spokesperson Stefan de Keersmaecker writes:
"We have seen that the Ukrainian government has taken measures. We welcome these measures, and we are actually working with them to ensure that these concerns regarding the fight against corruption, which is an extremely important priority for us and also for Ukraine, are actually addressed correctly", according to AFP.
In a statement, Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (Nabu) supports the new bill. It "restores all procedural powers and guarantees of independence", Nabu writes.
