At least 93 people have been confirmed dead in several states in the USA after Hurricane Helene's passage.
The hurricane reached Florida's coast late on Thursday with winds of over 60 meters per second. The storm then weakened but continued to cause extensive damage in, among others, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
We are hearing about significant infrastructure damage to water systems, communication, roads, critical transport routes, and homes that have been destroyed, said Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) chief Deanne Criswell on Sunday.
Nearly 2.3 million households were without power on Sunday, writes AFP.
