The Ukrainian leader's attire became a topic of discussion again when the two leaders met journalists shortly after Zelenskyj was welcomed by Trump. Just like in February, it was the Trump-friendly reporter Brian Glenn who brought up the issue during Monday's meeting.
The Ukrainian president's choice of clothing was at least at the center during the dramatic meeting between the leaders in February. The Ukrainian leader was then dressed in his usual military-like clothing and when he arrived at the White House, Trump said sarcastically "he is really dressed up today".
However, Monday's choice of clothing seemed to be appreciated by the American president, who announced that he thought Zelenskyj looked good.
According to a source to CNN, Trump's administration has proposed, or demanded, that Zelenskyj would not wear his usual military-like attire during Monday's meeting.
Zelenskyj has since the beginning of the war dressed in military green casual clothes and said that he will not wear a suit until there is peace in Ukraine.
