The police in Hudiksvall are warning that the drug or similar forms of narcotics may be in circulation in Hälsingland, according to several local media outlets.

Towards the end of November, the girl was taken to hospital where she later died. About a week ago, the man died in hospital with similar symptoms.

"Considering the circumstances, it can be assumed that the intake of the drug is the cause of their subsequent deaths," says preliminary investigation leader Oscar Thorén in a press release on the police's website.

The police tell SVT that they do not know if it is a case of overdoses.

No, that's what we don't know. We don't know either if it's 3-CMC, there are similar preparations that are not exactly 3-CMC – where you change the structure of the molecule, says Thorén.

At least one more person has been hospitalized during the same period, with similar symptoms.

In connection with the events, the police have initiated a preliminary investigation into manslaughter and drug offenses.
