The German tennis star Alexander Zverev was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. The case is now being dropped after a settlement has been reached.
In 2023, he was fined around 5 million kronor, which he refused to accept, leading the case to go to court, according to NTB. Under German law, prosecutors can impose fines in cases deemed relatively straightforward. If the accused disputes the fines, the case is decided through a trial.
Zverev himself has denied all allegations.
The news comes at the same time as Zverev is competing in the French Open. The 27-year-old is playing in the semifinals against Norwegian Casper Ruud today.
