The convicted are two men and a woman, all in their 30s to 40s. They are sentenced by the Stockholm District Court to imprisonment for five and three years, respectively, for, among other things, offenses against the law on explosive materials and for preparation of general endangerment.
One of the defendants is fully acquitted of the charges.
It was on July 10 that parts of the central station were cordoned off after the police had checked two individuals who were found to be carrying a homemade explosive device, a so-called thermos bomb.
Homemade bombs are relatively easy to manufacture and can pose a significant threat to the public. If a bomb contains an igniter, it can explode even during transport.
