The Champions League final in men's football 2027 was to be played at San Siro. But that will not be the case. The classic arena in Milan has lost the hosting.
The European Football Association (Uefa) says that the city of Milan cannot guarantee that the arena and its surroundings will not be affected by a renovation work then. There has been discussion for several years about San Siro's future and whether the arena will eventually be demolished to make way for a new one.
It remains to be seen which arena the final will instead be played on. San Siro has four times hosted the final in the European Cup/Champions League: 1965, 1970, 2001 and 2016.
