The National Board of Health and Welfare demands answers on how Botkyrka used a larger part of the approximately 16 million kronor the municipality received to prevent gang recruitment of children and young people. This is reported by SR Ekot.
We expect to get a deeper insight, a deeper picture of the handling of both the activities carried out and how the funds were handled, says Stina Isaksson, unit manager at the National Board of Health and Welfare, to the radio.
Ekot has revealed that Botkyrka used approximately 600,000 kronor of the special government grant against gang recruitment for a marketing plan, which was later scrapped.
In total, Botkyrka received approximately 16 million kronor of this special government grant. The National Board of Health and Welfare wants to see invoices and other documentation for over 11 million kronor. This includes, among other things, how the purchase of a sofa, a laptop, and a castle conference fits the purpose of the government grant.
Botkyrka has, following Ekot's investigation, decided to pay back the 600,000 kronor for the campaign that never materialized.
