A man with an axe in a bag was arrested last autumn in connection with a speech held by former Minister of Justice Morgan Johansson in Stockholm. The man has now been brought to trial, writes Expressen.

The 27-year-old was arrested during a demonstration that took place in early October last year in Kungsträdgården to draw attention to the Armenian genocide in 1915. About a hundred people had gathered, and Morgan Johansson was the speaker.

Several people noticed the 27-year-old with the bag containing the axe handle sticking out. He is also said to have made a Hitler salute towards the Karl XII statue. The police were alerted, and the man was arrested.

In May, the man was charged with incitement to racial hatred, minor drug offenses, and violation of the law on prohibition of knives and other dangerous objects, and on Tuesday, the trial against the man was held in the Stockholm District Court. The man denies any wrongdoing.
