Australia's government wants to make it illegal to share "deepfake" porn, realistic manipulated images or video clips created with AI.
The law, which will be presented to parliament next week, would impose imprisonment of up to six years for sharing deepfake porn without consent. The punishment would increase to seven years if the material was also created by oneself.
