The last two Premier League seasons, he has led Arsenal in the battle for the league gold.

Now, Mikel Arteta is extending his contract with the football club.

"I feel incredibly proud, am very excited and look forward to what is to come," he says in a statement.

The contract stretches until the summer of 2027.

Arteta has been the head coach of Arsenal since December 2019. The last two seasons, he has led the London club to two second places in the Premier League, right behind the giant Manchester City.

Arsenal has started this season with seven points after the first three league matches. On Sunday, the team will play a London derby away against Tottenham.
