It was the French league organization that ordered PSG to pay Mbappé the sum he demanded. When the club then turned to the French Football Association with a request to review the order, they were however denied.
The request to the association's executive committee was submitted one day too late, according to an AFP source close to the case.
The club had ten days to appeal the league's ruling, which fell on October 25.
A appeals committee in the French league has tried to mediate in the increasingly bitter dispute between Real Madrid's forward Mbappé and the club he left earlier this year.
Mbappé has demanded the sum which he claims consists of the last three months of his salary plus several bonuses.
PSG, on the other hand, claims that the 25-year-old had agreed to waive the sum.
While the legal dispute with the former club is ongoing, Mbappé is also being investigated for suspected rape following his visit to Stockholm earlier in October.
