Premiere for V85 is scheduled for October 25 this year at Jägersro, which would mark the end of an era in Swedish harness racing.
We have made a decision in the board to assign the company ATG the task of trying to compose a new Saturday experience, says ATG's chairman Peter Norman to Aftonbladet's Trav365.
Norman also says that there is no decision on whether the new game form is V85.
The first V75 race was held on October 30, 1993. The game attracts up to one million Swedish players every Saturday. Trav365 reported at the end of last year that ATG had plans to replace V75 with V85. The news was met with skepticism by both readers and horse racing enthusiasts, writes Aftonbladet.
One should be open to changes, but I don't know if I'm that open to replacing V75. It has been so strong for all these years, said trainer Daniel Redén.
V85, as the name suggests, will contain eight races instead of the previous seven. The number of winning pools will increase from three to four and the radial price is expected to remain at 50 öre.
