Olympic Games medal winners or a golfer? Among the nominations for the year's athletic achievement, presented at the Sports Gala in January, it is of course Olympic Games heroes who dominate. These are complemented by golf star Ludvig Åberg, who surprisingly came second in the major US Masters in May.
The other three candidates are Olympic Games gold medalist and world record holder in pole vault Armand Duplantis, Olympic Games gold medalist in 100m freestyle Sarah Sjöström and the table tennis men who took Olympic Games silver in the team event.
Sjöström, Duplantis and Truls Möregårdh (who also took Olympic Games silver in singles table tennis) are also nominated for the awards for the year's female and male athletes respectively.
