The 75-year-old man had a large number of weapons and ammunition scattered all over his villa in Vänersborg municipality. Now he is being convicted of serious weapons offenses, reports TTELA.
The police conducted a search of the man's home in connection with another investigation, when a pistol belonging to him was found.
"There are firearms of various kinds lying all over the house, not locked in a gun cabinet, and the same applies to ammunition, which is piled up around the house", according to the preliminary investigation, as reported by TTELA.
The man lacked licenses for 78 of the weapons. Moreover, five of the weapons he actually had licenses for were missing – which the man claims he does not know where they are. In addition, 1.7 tons of ammunition were found in the villa.
The man admits to offenses related to four weapons, but denies the others. He is now being sentenced to three years in prison.
