Clean water could save half a million lives a year

When women give birth in environments without clean water, they are at high risk of infections that can cost both them and their children their lives. According to a new report, the situation can be improved for relatively little cost. Clean water, sinks and toilets save lives, says Anna Nilsdotter, Secretary General of WaterAid Sweden.
