The Swedish Museum of Natural History covers nature and the development of humankind, with exhibitions about dinosaurs, the universe and Earth, animals and plants. Cosmonova adds a film experience beneath a dome screen measuring more than 8,000 square feet.

The museum’s website also offers a virtual visit, with stories about biodiversity and threatened species in Sweden and around the world. Online features include The Thin Line - On Line, forest biodiversity and clips featuring Dino-Doris. A digital exhibition draws on the museum’s paleobotanical collections, which it says contain almost 300,000 fossil plants from geological periods around the world; 95 per cent are registered in its database.

The museum’s learning pages cover meteorites, stars and the Sun. The site says 94 per cent of meteorites are stones, with the rest made of nickel-bearing iron. It also says the Sun contains 99.86 per cent of the matter in the solar system and weighs 332,270 times as much as Earth. The material provided does not give ticket prices, opening hours or a recommended length for an in-person visit.
