Wisdome Stockholm is a spherical cinema at the National Museum of Science and Technology, at Museivägen 7. Six 8K laser projectors and a 10.1 sound system fill the dome with 360-degree 3D projections. The programme is designed for different audiences, including families with children, teenagers and adults.
The website describes STORT 3D, a journey from the solar system to the Big Bang based on real data, and OpenSpace, a live family show exploring the known universe with a pilot. OpenSpace uses real-time data and was developed in collaboration with NASA. Making Magic 3D follows how computer code becomes visual effects in films and games. The dome is part of a wooden building designed by Elding Oscarson, with a roof structure spanning 48 metres without supporting pillars.
Tickets are bought through the museum’s website. Tekniska museet says it is open every day from 9am to 9pm; those are the museum’s hours, not a stated show schedule. The supplied information does not give a visit duration.
