According to the police, it was "loose dogs of fighting breed type" that bit the other dog to death and injured the woman.
Several people alerted the police about the aggressive dogs. The woman is said to have sought shelter in a car until the police and ambulance arrived at the scene and she could be taken to hospital.
The woman was injured in her hands and bleeding heavily when she was taken care of by ambulance personnel. Initially, we also had witness statements about other injuries, but it's nothing that we have had confirmed, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the Regional Command Centre.
The dogs' owner has also been taken to hospital for treatment and testing.
The incident is classified as causing bodily harm and a violation of the law on the supervision of dogs and cats.
