"Athletics is one of the most popular sports in Sweden. Now that we can show the entire Diamond League series, it will be really good athletics in SVT almost every week from April to September", says SVT's sports manager Max Bursell to the TV channel's website.
It's about 14 competitions per season. At the season premiere in Chinese Xiamen on April 26, the men's pole vault competition is on the program. Last year, pole vault star Armand Duplantis set a world record in Xiamen.
"Armand Duplantis is the clearly most popular athlete in Sweden and in the coming years, it's in SVT that we will see him chasing new world records", says Max Bursell.
On June 15, the Diamond League circus visits Stockholm's stadium.
