The textile artist Lisa "Lien" Englund receives the Becker Artist Scholarship for her ability to weave and "paint with yarn". Plant- and mushroom-dyed yarns in wool and linen are her working materials and the dyeing process itself a way to transfer the magic of the forest, writes the jury in a press release.
Lisa Englund was born in 1993 and has a master's degree from Konstfack. The jury describes her "craft as a paradox in our digitalized world. Out of time in its nature. Sustainable and solitary with a completely own image fantasy".
The scholarship includes 200,000 kronor and a solo exhibition at Färgfabriken in Stockholm, which will also be shown at KKAM Höganäs.
