The football star Cristiano Ronaldo has celebrated Christmas with his family in Finnish Lapland. There, he has visited Santa, taken a sauna – but also managed to provoke a Norwegian Olympic Games gold medalist.

There are pictures of Ronaldo trudging forward in a cross-country skiing track without skis that have got many, including Norwegian cross-country skier Erik Valnes, to react, reports Norwegian Dagbladet.

There are a lot of emotions involved in this. I started hating him after the transfer to Real Madrid in 2009, but now it's underscored even more, he says to the newspaper.

Then the Portuguese football star went from Manchester United to Real Madrid, something that was hard to swallow for the Norwegian United supporter. The fact that Ronaldo is now walking in the cross-country skiing tracks doesn't make things better.

Stay out of the tracks, is Valnes' advice.

Valnes has both Olympic Games and World Championship gold in sprint relay, and is one of Norway's hopes in the World Championship in Trondheim in late February–early March.
