Twelve unreleased songs by Michael Jackson have been found on old cassette tapes in a storage unit in San Fernando Valley, according to Hollywood Reporter. The storage unit once belonged to music producer and singer Bryan Loren.
The cassette tapes are now owned by a 56-year-old man, Gregg Musgrove, who unknowingly took over the storage unit without knowing its contents. His lawyer has contacted Michael Jackson's estate, which owns the copyright to the music, but they do not want to buy the recordings. The songs are said to have been made sometime between 1989 and 1991.
It is also possible to hear Michael Jackson and – likely – Bryan Loren discussing the songs, according to Gregg Musgrove.
I'm listening to this and getting goosebumps, he says.
The tapes are now locked away in a safe place to be sold at auction eventually.
