Unibet stops betting on the Nobel Prize in Literature, reports "Cultural News" on Swedish Radio. The risks are considered too great that someone leaks the name in advance.

"The decision is based on the fact that there are risks associated with having odds on something where people know the result in advance and that there have historically been leaks", writes the betting company in a comment to "Cultural News".

Other companies, such as Betsson, continue to allow private individuals to bet money on this year's Nobel Prize winner in Literature. Robin Olenius, PR manager at Betsson, believes that the games would be stopped if unexpectedly high sums are bet on a potential winner.

If that were the case, the alarm bells would go off very quickly, he says.
