Ukraine is to build a million drones this year, according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
During the first eight months of 2024, we have doubled our weapons production compared to 2023. We are making progress, says Shmyhal.
Drone production continues to grow.
Ukraine is heavily dependent on military support from its allies but has developed its own weapons industry to become less dependent on aid.
At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyj continues to lobby for persistence from allies. In his daily speech on Monday, he called for swift delivery of the support promised to Ukraine during a meeting in Ramstein, Germany, on Friday.
