Russian military claims that Russian forces are advancing in eastern Ukraine, and that they have taken a smaller town in Donetsk in an attempt to approach the strategically important Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk, two miles from the Russian front line.
Russian airstrikes in northern Ukraine simultaneously claimed civilian lives.
Two people were killed in the attack on Sumy, early on Sunday morning.
"Two women, aged 43 and 53, were killed by cluster bombs" that struck a garden. Further people were injured, including two children", the military leadership announced in a statement.
