The American energy company Chevron will reduce its workforce by 15 to 20 percent as part of a reorganization, the company announces. Thousands of people are expected to lose their jobs.
The cutbacks will begin this year and are expected to be completed by the end of next year. The decision is in line with earlier information from the company that structural costs will be reduced by 2 to 3 billion dollars, equivalent to approximately 21 to 32 billion kronor, by the end of 2026.
At the turn of the year, Chevron had nearly 40,000 employees, not counting those who work at gas stations.
