Directors Natalie Ringler and Benke Rydman are this year's Falstaff prizewinners. They will each receive 300,000 kronor as inspiration "for continued creation".
"I feel incredibly proud and happy, I'm losing my goal", says Natalie Ringler in a press release. She states that culture is in "a difficult time" – "and the Falstaff Prize reminds me that we are not alone".
Ringler has, among other things, been praised for her production of "Our Class" and "Iraqi Christ" at Teater Galeasen. Choreographer and director Fredrik "Benke" Rydman has made a name for himself with modern interpretations of "Swan Lake" and "The Rite of Spring", but also for the choreography of Eurovision entries such as "Cha cha cha" and this year's winning entry "The code".
The Falstaff Prize was established in 2018. Previous winners include Sofia Jupither, Levan Akin, and Alexander Ekman.
