A derailment on the Malmbanan has led to a stop in traffic, local media reports.
It was an ore train and the derailment occurred during a switching operation, says Pär Aronsson, press spokesperson at the Transport Administration, to NSD.
Stations that may be affected by the stop are Kiruna, Gällivare, Nattavaara, Murjek, Boden, Sunderby Hospital, Notviken, and Luleå.
Traffic is expected to be able to resume during the evening of Wednesday, writes the Transport Administration on its website.
The Malmbanan has been affected by several derailments during the winter and spring, causing total stops in traffic. The mining company LKAB has suffered a billion-kronor loss due to prolonged stops on the way to the harbor in Norwegian Narvik.
