Passengers will have to count on delays and cancellations of departures.
After a 12-hour stop, Bane Nor, which is responsible for the railway in Norway, believed on Christmas Eve that the problems were solved. But shortly afterwards, it was established that the train stop was not over yet. Just before midnight, the company announced on its website that traffic would resume.
The faults that caused the train drivers to lose contact with traffic control, and all traffic was stopped for safety reasons, have been localized.
"Bane Nor is working to rectify the faults. It is safe to operate trains. Traffic will resume," the company announced on its website.
It is serious that the trains have been standing still for as long as they have today, and I understand the passengers' frustration, said Minister of Transport John-Ivar Nygård (Ap) to NTB earlier on Christmas Day.
