Only days before the discovery, South Korea had dismantled its loudspeakers along the border, which were used for anti-North Korean propaganda, in an attempt to alleviate the tension between the two countries.
However, the South Korean military did not announce where North Korea had removed the loudspeakers and said that it is not known if all will be removed.
During the past few months, South Korean border residents have complained that North Korean loudspeakers have played annoying sounds, including howling animals and booming gongs in response to South Korean propaganda broadcasts.
North Korea has not confirmed that the country has removed the loudspeakers.
