Several migrants from Eritrea are being treated for hypothermia after hiding in a refrigerated truck on its way from France to the United Kingdom.
The driver stopped at a rest stop and then heard the migrants screaming for help.
Their condition suggests that they had been in the truck for several hours, says Christian Vedelago, head of the local prefecture office, to AFP.
Four people were hospitalized. The group included four children, who were taken care of by an organization. Several of the migrants had previously been told that they would have to leave France.
The driver, who was transporting frozen vegetables, is not the subject of an investigation.
