The demonstration at Parliament Square outside the British parliament gathered around 700 people, of which a majority wore placards and symbols that expressed support for the banned group, Palestine Action.
British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper thanks the police for the intervention and writes in a statement that:
”We stand firmly by the right to demonstrate, but this was a completely different kind of support for a specific banned group”.
Supporters of Palestine Action have carried out a series of protests across the UK since the beginning of July, when parliament banned the group and prohibited anyone from "publicly showing their support" for it.
The group has also been classified as a terrorist organization after activists broke into a British air force base and vandalized two tanker planes.
