The Tax Authority will make home visits to reveal so-called fake separations, reports Sveriges Radio Ekot.
The home visits will take place during the spring to check if couples still live together despite registering at different addresses. The Tax Authority hopes to uncover fraud, including housing benefits or illegal subletting.
We have seen this over several years, that we see the problem increasing in our controls and that's why we're making this effort, says Cajsa Toresten, section chief at the Tax Authority to Ekot.
