A man in his 65-year-old age has been detained on probable cause suspected of murder and arson after a comprehensive fire in an apartment in Linköping on Thursday, announces the prosecutor.
A woman in the age of 55–60 years was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, and on Friday morning the police announced that she had died.
”The man and the woman were acquainted with each other and it is thus a matter of an isolated incident”, says prosecutor Linda Kyrö, who leads the preliminary investigation, according to a press release.
Police, ambulance and rescue services were alerted on Thursday afternoon to a multi-family house after smoke had poured out of an apartment.
