The Government has now appointed Fredrik Holmberg as the new head of the agency. He is a lawyer and comes most recently from a position as deputy director-general at the Tax Agency.

"As new director-general, an important task will be to take the measures required to ensure the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority's important functions and strengthen confidence in the agency", says Minister for Infrastructure and Housing Andreas Carlson (KD) in a press release.

The former director-general Susanne Ås Sivborg was fired in December 2024 after security breaches were revealed in the agency's handling of documents.

At the Tax Agency, Holmberg has worked with IT development, including with a focus on information and cyber security. He has also been deputy director-general at the Customs Authority and deputy director-general at the Economic Crime Authority.

Holmberg takes up his position immediately and takes over from the acting director-general Nils Svartz.
