Henrik Landerholm is indicted for negligence with secret information, this after having forgotten a number of documents at a conference center in March 2023.
On Friday afternoon, the trial began, when a so-called evidence hearing was held in Attunda district court. When Landerholm arrived at the court, he did not want to comment himself, but he smiled and looked relaxed.
His lawyer Johan Eriksson says that Landerholm denies the crime.
We deny everything. I claim that he has not acted negligently in the way that is required. It requires intentional negligence. I claim that the actions or information in itself do not constitute any threat to the country's security as the prosecutor claims. So you can say that we deny everything, says Eriksson.
Secret information is one thing, but that the information is secret in the way that the prosecutor claims, we dispute, he continues.
The main hearing in the case is planned to begin on Monday, August 18.
Landerholm resigned in January this year. Apart from the incident at the conference center, which the indictment is about, it has also emerged that he has forgotten a notebook at Sveriges Radio on one occasion and that he has also forgotten his mobile phone at the Hungarian embassy.
