Cross-country skier Linn Sömskar is ending her elite career, she tells Expressen. The 35-year-old has in recent years primarily competed in roller skiing, where she has had great successes. She also got a perfect ending with last week's World Championship in roller skiing in Italy, where she took three golds and one silver.
That's why it feels both good and melancholic. Am I really done? But you have to be motivated to continue, says Sömskar to the newspaper.
As a cross-country skier, Sömskar has two third-place finishes in sprint relay as her best World Cup result. Individually, her top ranking is a fourth place in sprint from the World Cup in 2015, as well as a Swedish Championship gold on 15 kilometers from 2023.
