According to the newspaper, it is about at least nine trips that were officially made in service but where Henrik Landerholm simultaneously took the opportunity to visit his girlfriend in Berlin.
In a comment to Aftonbladet, the national security adviser writes that he has booked trips to meetings in service as "either going via Berlin or ending in Berlin instead of Stockholm" on several occasions.
Account for the trips
He writes further that he only afterwards became aware that, according to the Government Offices' rules, these do not count as business trips.
"In these cases, I have cancelled the trip or requested a salary deduction", Landerholm writes in a comment and adds that the routines have now been changed "so that mistakes like these can be avoided".
Henrik Landerholm has also posted his entire comment to the newspaper on the X platform. There, Landerholm writes further that he "has never travelled privately" at the Government Offices' expense and accounts for each individual trip.
Turbulent time
The salary deductions were, however, made only after the newspaper began asking questions about the trips, according to Aftonbladet. According to Aftonbladet, the trips to Berlin also ceased when Landerholm's partner moved to Sweden.
There has been a storm surrounding Henrik Landerholm lately since DN revealed that he had left classified documents at a conference centre, his mobile phone at the Hungarian Embassy, and a notebook at Sveriges Radio after participating in an interview.
