Over one million tickets to Oasis' performances next summer sold out directly. Now, the authorized reseller Ticketmaster's handling of ticket sales will be examined, announces the British competition authority.
"We are working at a rapid pace to determine the exact background of the Oasis ticket sales on August 31, and we are keeping all doors open regarding potential measures", the authority writes in a letter to the British government.
The pressure from fans quickly led to sky-high prices on secondary sites, according to The Guardian. Several ticket sites were affected by technical problems and crashed, causing great frustration.
The 90s icons Oasis are making a comeback next summer after brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher made peace. It has been 15 years since the band last toured.
Currently, 19 performances are planned in the UK and Ireland, with the premiere on July 4 in Cardiff.
