The poet Eva Ström is awarded the 2025 Ferlin Prize.
According to the jury's motivation, Ström receives the prize for her "both concrete and ambiguous poetry that moves between the present and the past and for her dreamlike depictions of human relationships to life, death, and nature. All seen with the natural scientist's clear-sighted gaze".
Among previous recipients of the Ferlin Prize, which has been awarded since 1963, are Tomas Tranströmer, Kristina Lugn, Bodil Malmsten, Lars Norén, and Emil Jensen.
Eva Ström is a doctor, author, and literary critic. She made her debut in 1977 with the poetry collection "The Burning Zeppelin".
The Nils Ferlin Society also awards an annual troubadour prize. This year, it goes to Sune Bohlin for "having interpreted Nils Ferlin's set-to-music poems for many years, for finding new forms and, with various collaboration partners, contributing to new musical experiences being brought forth from the rich material".
